A high school community project
Project Spandana
Sharing the joy of Bharatanatyam with senior citizens, one performance at a time.
Our mission
Project Spandana began a little over a year ago with a simple hope: to brighten a senior citizen's day by sharing a part of Indian culture with them through Bharatanatyam performances.
It has been a greatly enriching and rewarding experience to perform in senior living homes and activity centers, and we've been met with a wonderfully warm reaction every time. Spandana — a word that means "pulse" or "vibration" — is about that shared feeling: the joy of dance reaching across generations and cultures.
Where we've performed
We're grateful to the communities that welcomed us in and encouraged us to keep sharing this joy.
Hearts & Minds Activity Center
One of our very first performance venues, and an early supporter of bringing Bharatanatyam to their residents.
Brookdale Senior Living Solutions
A welcoming home for some of our earliest performances, helping Project Spandana find its footing in the community.
